The only point where windows notices no audio is generated is when I go to the speakers settings, select the speakers (only option available is Stereo) and click Test, the system claims the audio could not be played. ![]() ![]() The Realtek speakers are set as default (tried disabling and re-enabling but didn't work). Windows's and Dell's own Troubleshooting also finds no problems. When I go to system information, the audio devices find no problems. I finally removed Windows 7 SP1 installation and suddenly everything works just fine! I reinstalled the SP1 from a fresh copy from Microsoft site and again the sound disappears. Even AMD video drivers, LAN drivers, Card Reader drivers, everything I reinstalled but nothing worked. I reinstalled all drivers, including Intel chipset, HD Audio and Realtek Audio card drivers, but no go. The new clone worked fine, except no sound. I had to make a clone of my HD as the one which came with the machine almost died - the system didn't start as it was too busy working with bad sectors. ![]()
